The treatment of neck and low back pain has evolved over the years and many are turning to alternatives away from surgery for their musculoskeletal complaints. One such equipment is the Chattanooga Triton DTS that has been proven to be effective in the treatment of several low back conditions. Examples of conditions that the DTS may be effective for include:

A recent (2017) double-blind, randomised controlled trial (RCT) research investigating if non-surgical spinal decompression therapy makes a difference concluded that the treatments had a positive effect for improving pain, restoring function and reducing the thickness of the herniation/s[1]. Another study performed in 2015 showed significant improvements in the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and degree of Straight Leg Raise (SLR) with decompression therapy[2].
The DTS treatment is painless and in many cases, our patients fall asleep whilst on the decompression
table. To describe the healing mechanism in a nutshell, the DTS creates a vacuum effect in the affected discs which assists with “reabsorbing” the herniated disc/s. It also promotes imbibition and reduces the intradiscal pressure to approximately -100mm/HG, creating a positive environment for healing of the discs.
We understand that every patient’s condition differ from each other in severity and will tailor a unique treatment plan that is designed to optimise the most of each treatment session. During an initial consultation, our healthcare practitioner will determine if a patient’s condition is clinically indicated for the DTS and will advice on the treatment outcomes and prognosis accordingly
