Helping Older Australians Regain Independence
Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) is designed to help older Australians improve their physical function, confidence, and independence after illness, injury, or a decline in mobility.
At Physimed Health, our STRC services focus on achieving meaningful improvements that allow individuals to continue living safely and independently at home.
Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) at Physimed Health is a targeted, time-limited program designed to help individuals regain independence and improve daily function following illness, injury, hospitalisation or periods of physical decline. Our focus is to support clients who may be struggling with mobility, strength, confidence or daily tasks and help them return to living safely and comfortably in their own homes.
STRC is built around personalised physiotherapy and functional rehabilitation, with every care plan tailored to the client’s goals. Whether someone needs help walking again, building strength, managing pain or restoring movement after a setback, we provide structured, progressive therapy designed to achieve meaningful improvements over a short period.
How Our STRC Program Helps
This program is particularly beneficial for people who:
- Have recently experienced a physical decline
- Are transitioning from hospital back to home
- Require support to regain physical capacity
- Need help improving independence with day-to-day tasks
- Are aiming to prevent further deterioration
Through guided exercises, mobility retraining, balance and coordination work, strengthening routines and pain-relief strategies, our physiotherapists help clients rebuild confidence in their bodies and their abilities.
Preventing Further Decline and Promoting Long-Term Health
A core goal of STRC is not just recovery—but prevention. By improving physical function early, we help clients avoid falls, manage chronic symptoms, and reduce the risk of future hospital visits. Clients gain practical tools and routines that support long-term resilience, health and independence.
Collaborative, Client-Centred Care
Our approach to STRC is highly collaborative. We often work alongside GPs, nurses, occupational therapists, carers and other healthcare partners to ensure all aspects of health and functional ability are supported.
