At Physimed Health, our Physiotherapy services are designed to help you move better, recover faster, and return to doing what you love with confidence. Physiotherapy plays a vital role in restoring optimal function to muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints by reducing pain, improving mobility, and accelerating the healing process of the musculoskeletal system.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, preparing for surgery, or aiming to enhance physical performance, our Physiotherapists develop personalised treatment plans tailored to your goals and lifestyle.
What Is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a hands-on health care discipline that assesses, diagnoses and treats conditions affecting muscles, joints, nerves, and the spine. It focuses on restoring pain-free movement, strength, flexibility, balance and functional independence through clinical skills and therapeutic exercise — not just masking symptoms.
Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply want to improve how your body moves, our physiotherapy team is here to support your goals.

Frequently asked questions
A physiotherapist, is a health care professional who, “examines, diagnoses, and evaluates the extent of physical problems requiring physical therapy interventions, and treats patients who are suffering from physical injuries or disabilities by teaching them various therapeutic exercises and activities that strengthen muscles, improve mobility, and relieve pain.”
No. You do not need a referral to see us or to claim for private health insurance. If you have consulted your GP regarding your condition and you have a referral, please remember to bring it with you. We will keep in touch with your doctor regarding your treatment and ongoing care. For WorkCover, Third Party, Medicare EPC or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) claims a doctors referral is required.
How quickly you recover is determined by many factors unique to you. These factors include the extent of damaged tissue, how long you have had the injury, your nutritional habits, your emotional state, the state of your immune and endocrine systems, your genetic predisposition and other factors. We will review these factors with you when you come in for your evaluation. If appropriate, we can refer you to a physician or other practitioner who can address specific needs. Your body’s response to exercises and manual techniques will also help us to estimate how long it could take for you to regain function. In general, you should attend physiotherapy until you reach your goals or until your therapist—and you—decide that your condition is severe enough that your goals need to be re-evaluated. Typically, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks for soft tissue to heal, so your course of Physiotherapy may last about that long.
After your evaluation, you and your therapist will determine the number of times you will need to be seen. The extent and seriousness of your injury will be a primary consideration for determining the amount of treatment you will need. On average, we see clients 1-2 times a week for 4-8 weeks.
In general, be sure to bring loose-fitting comfortable attire (T-shirts, shorts, athletic shoes, etc.) to allow for evaluation and movement. In the event that you forget to wear appropriate attire, cloth gowns are available for patients with shoulder, neck or back injuries. Patients with hip, knee, ankle, or foot injury should wear shorts or loose fitting pants to allow proper exposure. Female patients with shoulder problems should wear a tank top or a loose fitting short sleeved shirt to minimize the necessity for a gown while allowing adequate exposure of the shoulder girdle complex
